Well, so much for writing more often. I guess the occasional post is better than no post at all. Anyways, I know in my last post I mentioned we were going to be having a baby in March. Well, that's changed. We are still having a baby. Just won't be in March. It will be April 9th. The health unit was off about 3-4 weeks. I will be 21 weeks this Friday. We found out on the 19th that we are having a little boy. A precious, healthy baby boy who will be named Landon Scott. We couldn't be happier. We are so excited. Not only that it is a healthy baby but that it is a boy. It's what we both wanted. He has just recently started to kick. Bryan finally felt him kick last night. He looked so happy when he felt the kicks. He is going to be such a great father. I can't wait to hold my baby boy in my arms. Just a few more months to go. Anyways, I just wanted to fill you guys in on what is going on now. :)
Wow! I can't believe I haven't written a single thing since February and it's now coming to the middle of August. I can't make excuses and say that I've been so busy that I just didn't have time to write. That would be a lie. I've had time. I just forgot about this place. I really did. The only reason I remembered was because I got a Vox Talks(I think that's what it's called anyways) email. I really do want to start writing here again. I just have to remember it, haha. Anyways, I guess if you are reading this then you are wondering about the title. Bryan and I found out about a week ago that we are expecting a baby. I'm about nine weeks along and the baby is due March 17th. We weren't really trying but if it happens it happens. And it happened. We are both so excited about this. Everyone at work is already trying to plan a baby shower. I still have a while to but they are all so excited about this. What's really crazy and is making it even more fun is that my best friend is also expecting a baby. She is ten weeks and her baby is due March 9th. When we found out we were so close we were so excited because we get to experiance this together. We've experianced everything else together and I guess we get to add pregnancy to the list, haha. Anyways, I know this is a big update or a long post but I just wanted to let you all know what was going on. :)
well i was sitting at my computer today looking at my homepage and said "oh yeah, I forgot i had a blog" sooo yeah, long time no update but here's a little one. Still at Hallmark, still loving the new house, got enough taxes back to pay off all but one of our credit cards, still struggling with school, can't wait until summer, love the people I work with, switching my major back to psychology, got diagnosed with ADHD so hoping the medicine I am on will help with school, we got a new car, traded in the dreaded Fit for a Chevy Equinox, LOVE IT it's Christopher's baby, we are both a year older, my family came to visit for my birthday weekend and it was awesome, i'm looking forward to going to Vermont for the demolition derby in July, I'm procrastinating as usual, so i'm going to get stuff done! I'll try and not wait so long so that I forget I have a blog!
so as much as it sucked having ash live with us, i do miss having her nearby. i liked being able to go out and get pedicures and go shopping... it's not the same with other people... anyway i was, sadly enough, just reading my old away messages and i remembered a lot of fun things we did... anyway nothing exciting is going on, classes (i have dropped down to part time) are crappy, im taking english and retaking java programming UGH. work is work, much better though because Michelle quit! not as good as I hoped though, I think i'm just burnt out working retail... anyway we had an awesome weekend in NY for my mom and bothers birthday, it was lots of fun.. thats about it i guess, boring
I can't believe that it has been almost two months since my last post. There has been so much going on lately that I've completely forgotten about this place. I guess it is time to update you guys on what has been going on in my life. I am still working at the pharmacy I joined back in October. I'm loving it so I've decided to stay on for the rest of the year and start school in January of 2010. About a month ago Bryan and I got to talking about the wedding. We have been engaged for almost two years and hadn't even one plan for the wedding. Not one. We decided that we wanted something small and simple. He suggested that we go to Las Vegas. I was completely against it at first because I wasn't quite sure how my parents would react. Mainly my mom. I told her about the idea and she didn't have any problems with it. She thought it was a great idea even though she wasn't going to be there. She told me to take videos and lots of pictures. So, once they were all okay with that idea then I said we should go for it. We have been working out the details/plans for almost three weeks now. We have booked our flight and hotel. We leave on the 22nd of this month and will be staying for a week. We couldn't decide where we wanted to stay but we finally settled on New York New York. I'm extremely excited but nervous at the same time. I've never flown and I've always said that I never would. I'm deathly afraid of planes and flying but I will hopefully be getting over that soon. If not then they will drag me kicking and screaming onto that plan. Haha. I'm hoping that everything turns out okay. That's what has been going on in our lives lately. :)
well i didnt have to do anything today so i guess it's not really a snow day but it's the first snow of the season (here at least) i have so many pics i wanna post but this really isnt the place to post a lot of pics so i'll just post a couple and let them do the talking. i have like 600 professional wedding photos (obviously i cant post all those!) and a bunch of before and afters of the house... anyway here are a couple of both!
ok so it's been a while and a real quick update. the closing went really quickly and really smoothly on christmas eve (thank goodness!!) then we drove to richmond to grandma and grandpa goldings and had a very nice christmas eve, then we drove to chesapeake and then we had a beautiful christmas morning ans then christmas night, we drove back to manassas and started the renovations and oh my goodness did we get ourselves into it. the first night, andrew tore out the carpets in all the rooms, then the next day the long days started. we worked from early morning to early morning everyday. we painted the whole house (all four bedrooms, hallways, livingroom, diningroom, basement, kitchen, everything) restained and poly'd the floors, sanded down and restained and poly'd the cabinets in the kitchen, and basically washed EVERYTHING because the house was filthy. we (Christin, me, charlotte, christopher, mark, andrew) got all this done in a week. yup. we're good. so now this past week we have been trying to get things unpacked. christopher starts school monday and i start school the 21st. i went back to work wednesday (and started my bookstore job tuesday and quit it today, i cant survive on just that job so there was no point in me keeping it when it pays more than $2.00 less than the Hallmark job.) so i am going to embrass my job, pick up more hours, and get our house all done (or as close as it can be for now) so thats a quick update. soon i'll post before and afters!
so my Christmas spirit has greatly improved! we still haven't closed on the house but all things happen for a reason! so the two things giving me the "bahumbugs" were working christmas eve, and not closing yet, BUT now it looks like we are going to close on Christmas eve! so bonus, i have to take the day off, they can't say no to that! and we get our big christmas present (the house) on christmas eve! so after that and watching the Grinch, Rudolph, and elf, i'm excited about Christmas! :)
Its been a while since I posted on Vox. Let see, what has changed since my last real post from April 30th. I'm still working at S.W.I.F.T. as a software developer, hopefully the global economy crisis doesn't endanger that. In July Emily and I got married in Gloversville, New York, we then honeymooned in Cancoon. The wedding was a lot of funa and I had a lot of fun in Cancoon, although I couldn't go a week without Internet access. By the 4th day, I was going insane from lack of communication with the outside world. I mean come on, I'm at a gorgeous resort, with my lovely wife, its during the iPhone launch. My only window to the outside world was TV and that was pretty much all in Spanish, and my Spanish pretty much sucks. So I spent a few bucks and got Internet for the rest of the week. At first Emliy made fun of me and then she ended up fighting me for the laptop.
Emily started school in August at George Mason and is working towards a degree in Information Technology. I'm very proud of her. She is too hard on herself when it comes to school.
There is now a couple of things going on in my life right now. Emily and I are waiting right now to close on our first home. I always said that I wouldn't be buying a house in Northern Virginia, its not really the area that I wanted to live in. But we are buying a 4 bedroom, 2 story house, with a fully finished basement. I am extremely excited!!!
Beyond that I am going to be starting in my masters program in January at JMU. Its a distance program so I will be taking two courses a semester online and it will only take me five semesters to get my masters degree in Computer Science.
That's a brief overview of the past 8 months. Hopefully I will be updating this more often than I have.
soooo grades are in and turns out i may not have found a major thats right for me.... B-,C,C, and in my java programming class that was torture for me and that i couldn't stand and learned nothing? a D. yep, a D. which, since it is part of my major, i have to retake. yep, retake. so again, i am lost and confused in the educational part of my life. i hate school... on another depressing note, we had to postpone our closing until Monday because the appraiser didn't get over there in time.... so... yeah, we had to cancell all the people we had coming this weekend to help work on the house, i worked to get the weekend off and now i have to take back all my shifts and try and get Monday off which is like 2 days before Christmas and probably not going to happen soooo... yeah... bahumbug!
